A beautiful mess

21 June 2011

There are days that my time in the office is a non-stop barrage of meetings with my staff. Considering there are only ten of us running the design and retail divisions, this sometimes takes its toll. There are days I wish I was just an employee waiting for time to pass so I can go home. When I get to a point that I need to unwind, I go down to the floor and rearrange the store and calm myself. That’s what I did last week.

I decided to move the entire traditional classic collection to another section of the store and created my own Porte de Clignancourt, the most famous flea market in Paris.

It isn’t easy to create a flea market look on purpose, because the goal is to make it look hodgepodge but make sense at the same. I also decided to fill up every little space with over 400 copies of design magazines that I’ve accumulated through the years.

The result is a beautiful mess.
