In the last month and a half, the KISH website has been getting consistently high hits. Surprisingly, traffic has come not just from our home base, but from more than 80 countries and territories around the world. While bulk still comes from the Philippines, a growing number from Sweden, Canada and the US are racking up numbers. We even have readers from South America, like Argentina, and the other neighboring countries of the region. And yes, someone reads up on KISH from as far away as Senegal and other African countries, too. Considering we only reformatted our site with a blog section and more information about K I S H last December, in celebration of KISH 10th year anniversary, this seems like a landmark achievement. Makes me want to do extensive research on Google Analytics results.

Maintaining a blog is a lot of work for someone like me who purposely stays away writing and reading. There were entries that I have to admit were posted for the sake of keeping up activity on the blog. Blogging requires research and proper editing so readers do not end up criticizing and doubting the credibility of the entry, and by extension, the brand. There were several occasions that I had to think twice and even get other people’s opinion first if a blog entry is appropriate, such as the 390 million-peso NAIA egg.
My friend Oliver told me I write fast and well and my dear friend Janina Dizon said I am good storyteller. I have to admit that my entries go through an editor, mostly because I write and I don’t read back what I just wrote because I tend to change the lines. But one thing I can assure you is I write my own blog entries.
I have about 6 other stories I want to work on, but it really takes time and effort to come up with a good entry. But with the recent spurt of high hits, I am more inclined to really blog about design, people, places, issues, and other ideas that can change the city we live in and make things right one blog entry at a time.
I just really hope Google Analytics is telling the truth that there are a lot of people reading and checking our site because if they’re sending out wrong information, then, well, they really suck big time and myself and other bloggers claiming to get amazing traffic are just stuck in a fantasy world.
But more than getting excited about the numbers game, I think it would be nice to hear from our readers from more than 80 countries and territories to let us know you are there, really there, and find out why you follow the site by giving us a comment. I want to get surprised. You never know, we might really like your line and the next thing you know you get a KISH gift.
