My kind of market

30 May 2012

Growing up in the city of San Pablo, one of my past times was to go to the public market and look around for anything that perks up my interest. I remember getting so amazed with the many types of beans I see, the taste of the best halaya, the wonderful touch of colored sagos just to mention a few. The local public market to me is the soul of every town as it basically weaves together the lives of the locals. For me, it is also the best tourist attraction for anyone who is a visitor.

With commerce always on the move to change the way we live, the existence of the local public markets have always been threatened by the coming of big malls to every small and big cities.

My recent visit to Chiang Mai brought me to the local public market and I was immediately transported to my younger days growing up in San Pablo city.
