I’ve been asked many times about who handles the PR of K I S H. To be honest with you. I’ve been doing the PR and marketing of K I S H ever since. I come up with an idea and then I go for it. On our 10th year aniversary, I came up with the X (X = 10) campaign featuring half-naked guys and the best of K I S H products. Some were excited to see the newsletter every month for 2 reasons: 1. What new item will be featured and 2. How sexy will the model be. At the end of the day, it was marketing. When it comes to PR, I basically say yes to most interviews and features about the store and projects I have done. I do not do a lot of partying because I freak out at the idea of talking to someone and start feeling I am in a reality show. You know that kind of encounter where you have to smile all the time and look cool and yet your armpits are all sweaty even if you applied deodorant. My friend has repeatedly told me to go out more and attend events, so I decided to just do that but tried to be a bit more choosy just to make sure I still enjoy the moment being out there.
The last couple of weeks, our PR was on a roll because of the Katha award for best furniture design and booth I won during the last Manila FAME. Style weekend featured the Gregoria as their LUST page and Space closed their current issue with my comparison of Paris and Rome during my last Europe trip last January for their IT’S A WRAP section. And yes, I got to talk to the EIC of Surface Asia, Melinda Williams over the phone for the magazine’s SUFFIX page of April/May issue. They featured the Gregoria accompanied by a wonderful article. Thank you Liza Ilarde of Style Weekend, Sheryl Songsong of Space magazine and Melinda Williams of Surface Asia.
