Silver award in Como, Italy

8 May 2013

One of the craziest moments in my life happened last April 14, 2013. I was awarded the Silver A’ Design award in Villa Gallia, Como, Italy where winners from around the world attended. All the winning designs were also exhibited at Ex-Chiesa di San Francisco from April 15 – 27, 2013. It was a crazy moment because never in my wildest dreams have I ever thought I will be in a place like Como to accept an international award.

I did not really plan to go because I said it will be sad going alone, but at the back of my mind, it might not happen again so might as well do it. I invited my German friend Tom who lives in Berlin to join me but he did not want to stay until Sunday (the night of the awarding, because Monday is a work day). Luckily I was able to convince him. Initially I wanted him to go so he can take my pictures while I accept the award (selfish reason I know), but I was very glad he came just because it was really wonderful to catch up. He is very down-to-earth and easy to get along with that I enjoyed Milan and Como because of him. We’ve been friends for over 4 years now. We were also joined by Leslie and Lieza Bituin who were in Milan for Salone.

The other great part of the awarding, I met other winners from around the world.
