The Kids and The CareDivas!

19 April 2012

A week from now, Caredivas will be performed at OnStage Greenbelt 1 on April 27 at 8pm. We took the chance and decided to support it hoping that we can sell all the tickets to help The Black Pencil Project. The Black Pencil Project is an organization with volunteers their objective is to buy school supplies for kids in remote places in the Philippines. Believe it or not, some kids who wants to go to school can’t even afford to buy a pencil so that they can write their thoughts. Much worse not even a notebook to write on. KISH decided to help them. We will buy all the school supplies and bring it to them. We been supporting The Black Pencil Project since January. So we are asking you to support this project and give the kids the chance. All the proceeds from the performance of CareDivas will 100% go to The Black Pencil Project.

Briefly, Liza Magtoto’s CARE DIVAS – a disarmingly funny and candid musical drama telling the stories of five Filipino transgender migrant workers who immigrated to Israel to work as health care providers for the elderly and who in their spare time, perform as drag queens. While desperate to make ends meet in another country, they also struggle to search for freedom and acceptance. Directed by PDI’s BRAVO Director of the Year, Maribel Legarda and scored by multi- awarded composer and singer Vincent de Jesus.
